- Essence Of India 12 July 2012My family and I have now been to Essence of India twice. And yes, we intend to return again. The staff are very friendly, and make you feel welcome. This isn't a restaurant where you are just another customer. Here, you are a friend. The food is absolutely beautiful, we have no complaints. Kids of all ages are given a warm welcome (ours are 2 years, and 24 months). There is ample parking, and an inviting bar/reception area to relax before and after the meal. This side is more like a pub.... Pool table (no oiks effing and blinding though) skittles a fruit machine and a TV. This area has lovely comfortable seating. The restaurant area is divided by a wall, in which there is plenty of seating in a cosy atmosphere. If local, and want to have a drink, you can ring them, and they will pick you up, and drop you home at your convenience. The prices are very reasonable, and in lime with other Indian restaurants in the area. I wish there were more restaurants like this in the area. - FANTASTIC SERVICE AND MEAL
- 10 June, 2012Great little country pubI recently visited this pub with my family for a birthday meal.I was delighted by the warm welcome of the staff.We was shown to our table in restaurant,which i thought was very nicely set up for our indian meal.Waiters could not do enough for us and we thought how polite and well mannered they all were.food was out of this world and would highly recommend this restaurant to any people liking indian food.They treated my little boy to a ice-cream and gave it us on the house which i thought was lovely and made my little boys night.thanks to all at the essence of india
- 18 May, 2012Best around, Don't Delay !Out of town,so parking was easy and plenty of room. There is even a complimentary taxis service available for those within 8-miles.The bar is a traditional English pub with a good real ale ( Rocks' Doombar on the night) it was well kept and pleasantly served by the local barmaid.The short walk into the restaurant is a surprise with a big change of atmosphere, we entered a well appointed room with good modern furniture and furnishings. The background music was quiet, but just right.Restaurant orders can be taken at the bar or when seated by polite, smartly dressed staff. Spacious and romantic would be a fair comment. The wine and beer was reasonably pricedThe choices of food was wide and varied with prices slightly more than town prices but worth the extra. Most importantly, the food was excellent; good portions and delicious. Unlike most other local restaurants the meats were cooked perfectly being exceptionally tender. For us, it is the best restaurant in the lager surrounding area.Will tell my friends to go there, highly recommendable ... worth a try. We shall return !

- 11 July, 2010Twins 18th CelebrationWe have just celebrated our twins 18th birthday at the, Black Horse Pub and the Essence of India. Fantastic welcoming atmosphere, the bar staff were great, the waiter could not do enough for us, loads of tasty well cooked food. Over all, high quality food and service with a warm loving atmosphere. Thank you all very much
